Our Story
Farasha. The Arabic word for butterfly.
It was chosen deliberately. A butterfly doesn't stay still. It crosses borders, moves between worlds, and carries something essential — a reminder that transformation is possible, that beauty can emerge from the most unlikely places, and that the most resonant things travel.
That is what we believe cinema can do.
Farasha Pictures was founded on a single conviction: that film, at its best, is not entertainment. It is a crossing. A story told in one country that lands in another and makes someone feel seen. A voice that has never been amplified before, finally heard.
We are here to make those crossings happen.
WHERE WE COME FROM
47 Cities. 12 Countries. 6 Continents.
This is where our stories come from.
We don't just make films about the world. We come from it.
Farasha Pictures was built in motion — across the souks of Kuwait City and the film corridors of Cannes, the skylines of Hong Kong and the shorelines of Nassau, the small towns of the American Midwest and the high-rises of Shanghai.
Our Executive Producers have lived, worked, and put down roots on six continents. From Seoul to San Francisco. From Accra to Ottawa. From Dubai to Paris. From Kobe to London. From the quiet roads of Painswick to the energy of New York.
That breadth is not a resume line. It is a creative filter.
It is why we recognize a universal story when we find one. Why we know the difference between a story told about a culture and one told from inside it. Why the films we develop feel both locally authentic and globally resonant — because the people making them have actually lived the complexity.
